The Good News is… There’s Lots of Room for Improvement

Aaah, Saturday: Weight Watchers meeting, the final workout for the week, and then breakfast… I love it!

On tap for today, Spartan Challenge workout #1: 50 pullups + 50 burpees. This workout was one of the WODs at the CrossFit Games qualifier a few weeks ago. Before I tell you my time, check out the way that some of our CrossFit Central coaches killed this thing — keeping in mind that they had to do chest-to-bar pullups:

Carey 6:07
Jess 7:35
Crystal 7:16

The men’s first place finisher at the qualifier was Dutch Lowy; he finished this WOD in 3:13.


I wholeheartedly agree with my pal Lauren when she says, “Comparison is the killer of joy.” but I couldn’t resist looking at their times next to mine. With the assistance of my trusty rubberband, I finished my 50 burpees and 50 pullups in…

My time: 15:45
  • burpees = 5:50
  • pullups = 9:55

The only way from here is up!

    Comparison my be the killer of joy, but it can be a powerful motivator as well. Always remember how far you’ve already come! Then use that prior accomplishment to build your future success!
