Pick a priority today. One thing that you want to do better. Today and today only. Not for tomorrow or next week or next month or next year. One thing you want to improve today. Just one day at a time....

A few days ago, I read the article “Top Ten Checklist: Do YouTrain?” and lamented that it’s been too long since I’ve run sprints and gotten my fanny under a bar for heavy back squats – numbers 1 and 4 on the checklist.
I thought to myself: Self, when we get back from Prague, let’s go to the craptastic gym and lift some heavy stuff once a week… and wouldn’t it be...

In September, Dave and I are going on a 2-week holiday to Prague. I’m going to eat a dumpling (and a strudel), wear a black leather jacket, and walk on cobblestones. I’ve been asked so many times, “Why Prague?” that I’ve decided to show you.

Included in the slide show are Kim Clijsters, Serena Williams, Elena Dementieva, Jelena Jankovic, Samantha Stosur, Victoria Azarenka, and Vera Zvonareva.
Watch them...

I slept lousy last night. I watched the first 5-10 minutes of three episodes of Knight Rider, so that should give you some indication of what it was like.
Snooze –> wake up with a start –> remove eye mask –> turn on Knight Rider –> drift off –> repeat
(I know what you’re asking yourself: “Why on Earth is Mel watching Knight Rider?”...

Bonita and I have been throwing around the idea of a swimming WOD for months. And since it’s been over 100 degrees in Austin for more than a week, now seemed like the ideal time to jump into Deep Eddy and swap running the track for swimming laps.
I dug up a workout from an old CrossFit Journal article, put my own spin on it (i.e., shortened the swimming intervals because most of us hadn’t swum...
