A Little Gypsy Music
About 100 miles south of Prague is a small city called Cesky Krumlov that inspires daydreams of princesses and werewolves. The town and castle construction started in the late 13th century, and most of the old town is tucked into a horseshoe of the Vltava River. It looks like this:

The castle has a drawbridge and a bear pit populated by European brown bears, and on Friday nights, at Cikanska Jizba (“Gypsy Pub”), revelers chow down on Slovak food and get rowdy to music from a gypsy band. Dave and I are going to Cesky Krumlov tomorrow and on Friday night, we’ll be among the happy people in the Gypsy Pub. I’ll raise a glass to you while we listen to something like this…

I’m a sucker for places with a rich long history and throw in a quaint mysterious feel and I’m in love!! Needless to say I’m excited for and jealous of you all at the same time:) have an amazing time!!
The lack of billboards and fast food joints and gas stations always strike me as amazing when I see pictures of little towns like this. Watching BBC America has made me want to move to a tiny village in the English countryside for that reason.
Look how beautiful things could be without all that clutter.
(Not entirely sure about the bear pit though.)
Haha totally with you on the bear pit I come from a bear prevalent area and they are my number one fear!!
